1992 Leaf Black Ozzie Guillen and Steve Sax
for 1976 Topps Bill Melton, Jorge Orta and Bob Coluccio

2015 topps heritage chrome Jose Abreu

Pulled this card from a pack while shopping today.  This is my second Topps Heritage Chrome from this year (other being Micah Johnson)

Jim Rivera return

I have sent to Jim Rivera before and he always is a great signer.  Unfortunately, I forgot to send SASE so I will be sending him cash as he paid for postage.

Mr. Rivera was a speedy outfielder who led the league in stolen bases in 1955.  He spent 9 years in Chicago.

Jose Abreu 2015 topps 5 star

Although Abreu's signature is a little hard to read, I really like it.  I am fortunate to have a couple of his autographs.  I hope to get to meet him at SoxFest this year!

Everett Scott 1926 card

Another ebay purchase netted my new oldest card in my collection.

Mr. Scott had a 13 year career that was winding down when he became a Pale Hose.  He did rank in the top 20 twice in MVP voting.

Donn Pall ttm return

Received these cards today c/o home with a 44 day wait.  The Pope was a pitcher I liked when I was younger during his playing days.  He had a successful 10-year career in the majors.

Mail day 11/23

Got two packages today. Pretty excited about both.

First, a 2015 Topps Heritage Clubhouse Collection Gold #71/99 of Jose Abreu.

Then a 1988 Coke White Sox team set.  As I was 9 years old at the time, I was in my baseball craze time of my youth and loved going to White Sox games.

Bill Long return

Mr. Long was kind enough to sing the following four items through the mail.

Bill played 5 years for the White Sox.  He currently is a middle school teacher in the Cincinnati area.

Joe Hicks

I purchased an 8x10 photo for an signing hosted by Chris Potter (www.chrispottersports.com).  I was very happy how it turned out.

Mr. Hicks played parts of 2 seasons on the South Side in 1959 and 1960.  He had three seasons afterwards in Washington and New York.

Oscar Gamble return

Got this as a consignment return from a Yankees fanstasy camp.  Oscar has 2 stints with the White Sox (1977 and 1985).  His original stint came from a trade with the Yankees that sent the White Sox Gamble, Future Cy Young winner Lamar Hoyt for Bucky Dent.  Gamble was part of the South Side Hitmen that season.

Juan Pizarro return

Got my second of three balls returned today that I sent on 10/26.  Today it came back from a 2-time all-star Juan Pizarro from Puerto Rico.

Mr. Pizarro had a very successful 18 year career in the majors.  His 2 best years were his 2 years that he was named an All-Star in 1963 and 1964.

Roberto Hernandez ROMLB Return

Roberto Hernandez has always been a great signed through the mail.  Earlier in the year, I purchased a couple of balls with the hopes of getting them signed at some of the White Sox games I went to.  Although I wasn't successful at the games, I hoped to get them signed by players who achieved milestones while in a White Sox uniform (All-Star, Rookie of the Year, Cy Young...).  I sent 3 off in October.  This is the first to come back.

Roberto was a great closer for the Sox after taking over from Bobby Thigpen.  He was part of the infamous White Flag Trade of 1997.  He continued pitching until 2007 and was a very successful member of the bullpen throughout his years in Baseball.

Brian McCall return

I'm a big fan of the OYW cards as they show the players who didn't get an opportunity to play long in the majors.

Mr. McCall played on the South Side for 2 years, 7 games total.
