Bobby Jenks Purchase

Bobby Jenks was an interesting part of the 2005 season.  He was an Anaheim castoff who started in Birmingham.  After Shingo Takatsu was DFA'd and Dustin Hermanson was injured, Jenks got some important playing time and was a key part in closing games in the 2005 playoff.  He followed that up with 2 40 save seasons (with all-star appearances).

Charlotte Knight @ Indianapolis Indians IP 4/21/18

Charlotte Knights annual journey to Indianapolis was this weekend.  My time availability to go to games was limited due to a track meet on Friday and a meeting on Sunday.  Regardless still a good opportunity to get some players that either were or will be White Sox players.

We arrived at 5:40 and got our black panther bobble heads (my wife is a big fan of the movie).  My kids and her got set up on the lawn and I went to get autos.

The Knights were doing BP.  There were several players signing that I got previously (Kopech did 1 per for almost everyone that asked, Danish signed for everyone as did Jacob May).  My first auto came from Jace Fry,  As I was getting him, most of the pitchers bolted off the field.

After a bit of a wait, some of the position players started to warm-up. Casey Gillaspie was the first to sign for me.  He liked the picture.

Next came Jake Elmore.

Then Juan Perez

The last one I was able to get was Charlie Tilson

I was hoping to get more pitchers today but all in all, I am pretty happy with the return as I only missed one player who has played on the South Side (Minaya).

Dick Donovan Purchase

Dick Donovan had a great career, including an all-star appearance in 1955 as well as 1961, 1962 in years after his tenure on the South Side.  He pitched in game 3 of the 1959 World Series.

Jake Elmore IP 4/21/18

Jake Elmore signed with the White Sox this offseason.  He has 197 games of experience with 5 different teams.  I can see him getting a callup at some point this year.

Juan Perez IP 4/21/18

Juan Perez-Another White Sox minor league player with MLB experience (3 years with the Giants 2013-2015).  He split last season with the Cubs and the Tigers AAA affiliates.

Charlie Tilson IP 4/21/18

Charlie Tilson was part of the 2016 Zack Duke Trade.  He had an unfortunate injury in his MLB debut that sidelined him for the rest of 2016 and all of 2017 until the AFL.  I anticipate him making an appearance in 2018 in Chicago.

This photo came from a game on 4/21/18 at Indianapolis.

Dennis O'toole TTM Return

Denny O'Toole was a pitcher on the south side for 5 years.  He played sparingly in each season with the most being in 1973 where he played in 6 games and had 16 innings pitched.  He did go quickly through the minors going from A affiliate Appleton to the majors in 1969, 2 years after being drafted.

Howie Judson TTM Return

Howie Judson was the first TTM return I received that played in the 1940's.  I have several cards signed from him.  Last week, I found an 8x10 photo of him.  Even though his won-loss record was no where near .500, he had a positive WAR rating each year on the South Side (3.0 career WAR on the South Side).

Ron Santo 8x10 Purchase

Ron Santo was mostly known as a great player on the north side.  I have noticed that the White Sox the last place for a lot of veterans to play and Santo was one of them.

He was part of a trade before the 1974 season in which the White Sox sent Ken Frailing, Steve Stone, Steve Swisher and Jim Kremmel.

Santo is a member of the Hall of Fame.

This is 8x10 #317 for me.1974-40.00% complete-32nd overall

Ken Hill Private Signing

Ken Hill

When I saw a private signing on Ken Hill on SCN, I had to admit, I didn't know he was a White Sox player.  After I researched, I saw he was an all-star early in his career (1994  with Montreal) and he didn't have a long career with the White Sox (2 games, 1 start in 2000).  I didn't think there would be a big chance there would be a photo of him but I ran across the MLB Photostore website and saw this for 6.99.

This photo purchase put me half way through the 2000 roster.

Tommie Agee purchase

With a 15% off coupon on ebay and some profits from some card sales, I purchased this photo of Tommie Agee.

Tommie won the 1966 Rookie of the year and gold glove while on the South Side.  He later won a world series title with the Mets.  He was a key part of their world series win with his game 3 heroics.

The 1965 team is the most complete in my collection from the 60's

1965-52.94% complete-17th overall
1966-43.59% complete-28th overall
1967-37.78% complete-41st overall
